Girl with a crowbar

She pries.

She asks, in a smooth and re-assuring voice, question after question I would rather not answer.

I hide behind my little cardboard mask. It smiles through the pain, it chuckles to make it clear that "it's not that bad," but I force true answers out with the laugh.

Occasionally, frequently, never.

How is this supposed to fix me?

I'll lower the mask. Just a little.

I'm not good at friendships. Absence makes the heart forget. No one calls, so I suppose they don't care to talk. No one calls, and I don't call, and no one calls. The loneliness goes 'round, perhaps.

Or perhaps its just me.

What do I do? Oh, I carve little keys.

Why? To break into the rooms where my friends are hiding. I don't even know what door they would go to. If I did I could just knock. My friends would let me in, right?

What if the door never opens?

What if I'm just doomed to be lonely?

Maybe I'll grind away at another key. Then it's my fault if the door stays closed. It's easier if it's my fault.

My heart lays on the little table between us as she carves away another layer.

"I think it's broken." She says.

"I'm not surprised." I say. The mask chuckles. "Can you fix it?"

She pokes it again.

"Maybe. Can you come back next Thursday?"

"Maybe."

Girl With a Crowbar

Gear: Long-sleeve knit sweater (Light Armor), skirt with deep pockets (+2 slots), crowbar (as mace), lantern, oil, trinket (See Below).

Skills: Fashion, Leverage, Stealth

A. Quiet Little Questions: You may ask a creature any yes or no question you like. Regardless of their spoken answer, you learn the truth. Ask too many questions, and you may upset them.

B. Mutual Understanding: If a creature asks you a question, and you give them an honest answer, they reroll their reaction to you with +2.

C. Tell me More: If a creature says something directly to you, you may cause them to elaborate, giving away more details than they originally intended to. This works once per creature per day.

D. Just a Little Nudge: You may offer a not-completely-terrible suggestion to a creature who is not actively violent towards you or your allies. There is a 5-in-6 chance they take this suggestion. On a 6, they reject your suggestion and do the opposite. If the referee decides the suggestion is completely terrible, you have a single chance to amend it.

Trinkets:

  1. A silver pocket-watch. It keeps perfect time. Once, and only once, you may break it to make time. Specifically, the world freezes for everyone except you and one other person for ten minutes.
  2. A magnifying glass. The handle unscrews to reveal a small hidden compartment. Currently, there are lock-picks inside.
  3. A very long scarf. +1 AC. You may sacrifice it to negate damage from a single source.
  4. A pair of round glasses. Once per day, you may activate them to see magic as colored auras for ten minutes.
  5. Black lipstick. +1 to reactions. Creatures find you strangely intimidating.
  6. A letter from someone high-up. You helped them sort through some things, and they've promised a favor, if ever you need.

I think this also technically counts as a class that is definitely not a thief, warrior, or wizard, for Glaugust.

But it's a little thiefy, so maybe it doesn't count.
